Definition of a Provider user License

The definition of a Provider is outlined in Clause 1.iv of the contract.

A Provider is a user role that:

  • Can have appointments scheduled for them

  • Has the ability to save SOAP notes

  • Can conduct video consultations with patients

A Provider is not necessarily a MD, PA or NP, as different practices may obtain Provider licenses for:

  • Nurses

  • Aestheticians

  • Therapists

  • Dieticians

  • Other non-prescribing medical professionals

If the Practice Account Admin wants to create appointments for these users, they would require a Provider user license. However, EPCS licenses are not required for such users since they do not prescribe controlled substances.

eRx Collaborators & Supervising Physicians

  • eRx Collaborators or Supervising Physicians (even though they are MDs) are not considered Providers in DocVilla.

  • They are categorized as staff members (included in the 5 staff licenses).

  • Since practices do not create appointments for eRx collaborators, they do not need a Provider user license for an eRx collaborator.

  • However, eRx collaborators can co-sign notes in DocVilla.

If you would like to give ability to the Nurses or any Staff members to SAVE SOAP notes, then we charge a fee of $99/staff member/month and can provide the ability to the nurses to SAVE SOAP.
