How to Enter Patient Vitals and Pediatric Measurements in EMR
Recording vitals in the EMR ensures accurate tracking of key health metrics. Follow these steps to document vitals and pediatric measurements efficiently.
Steps to Record Vitals
Step 1: Go to Patient and navigate to the Consult section.
Step 2: Click on View Consult and then select Vitals and Charts.
Step 3: In the Vitals tab, enter the following details:
Vital Signs:
Date Taken
Time Taken
Blood Pressure (Systolic, Diastolic, Position)
Body Temperature
Pulse
Respiratory Rate
O2 Saturation
Pain level
Pain Location
Growth Values
Date Taken
Time Taken
Height: Enter in feet and inches.
Weight: Pounds or Kgs
Note: After entering, the system will automatically generate the BMI.
Step 4: For pediatric patients, use the Peds Only section to record:
Birthweight
Birth Length
Head Circumference
Step 5: Click Save to store the vitals.

Go to the next tab to enter Vision details as required.
