How to Start a Video Call in a Telehealth Appointment

Video icon will only be displayed in the Prescriber/Provider dashboard.

Video icon will only be displayed for video appointment services and not for in-person appointment services

Video icon will NOT be displayed in the Location Admin or Nurse role or any other role beside the Provider/Prescriber.

Steps to Initiate a Video Call

  1. Log In as a Prescriber

    • Open your EHR system and log in using your Prescriber credentials.

 

 

  1. Access the Patient's Consult

    • Navigate to the Consults section.

    • Locate the specific Patient’s Encounter and click on it to open.

 

 

  1. Start the Video Call

    • Inside the encounter, go to the Session Details section.

    • Look at the top-right corner and click the Start Video option.

 

  1. Wait for the Patient to Join

    • Once the video session is initiated, wait for the patient to join the call.

 

  1. Begin the Consultation

    • Proceed with the telehealth consultation once the connection is established.

 

  • Location Admin: If you choose a patient as Location Admin (telehealth visit), you will not find the Start Video option with the same steps.

 

 


Important Note: Location Type

  • Telehealth Appointments Only: The Start Video option is available only for Telehealth appointment types.


Key Notes

  • Ensure both the patient and the prescriber have a stable internet connection.

  • Confirm the patient has received instructions to join the telehealth appointment through their portal or app.
