How To Send Lab Orders in EMR

You have to reach out to your lab rep and request for integration with DocVilla. Labs are responsible for covering the integration fees with the EHR.

The lab integration process may take several weeks to months depending on the lab’s internal procedures and your patient volume. Once you complete the registration, a lab representative will contact us to initiate the integration of your lab account with your DocVilla account. You will need to follow up with the lab rep to ensure they reach out to us.

There is additional Integration fee plus Annual Maintenance Fee for Lab Interface integration. This is in addition to the DocVilla subscription fee.

Labcorp -

If the medical practice does not have a LabCorp Account # or Representative yet, the client can submit a request to: Contact a Labcorp account representative | Labcorp , fill out the form, and select an option under “New Account Request”.

If the medical practice does have a LabCorp Account # but does not know their rep’s name, the client can place a request at: Contact a Labcorp account representative | Labcorp , fill out the form, and at the bottom under “Existing Users” type in their Account Number and indicate in the Comments section that they are requesting a new interface.

Please note:
If the lab declines to cover the initial integration fee for the practice, the EHR cannot proceed with the integration until the practice reaches sufficient patient volume. In such situations, we recommend building a relationship with the lab by submitting orders through the lab’s portal or via eFax from DocVilla. If the practice still wishes to move forward with the integration, the associated engineering costs would be the responsibility of the practice.

Additionally, there is an Annual Maintenance Fee that labs typically pay to the EHR. If the lab chooses not to cover this fee, the medical practice would be responsible for it. This fee is separate from and in addition to the DocVilla subscription fee.

Flowsheets, where applicable, depend on discrete data provided by the lab. Enabling this functionality requires additional development and engineering effort, and the related costs would be borne by the medical practice unless the lab agrees to underwrite them.

Connecting with labs through the EHR enables seamless communication, test ordering, and results management. Follow the steps below to connect with labs efficiently:

Steps to Send Lab Order in EMR:

Step 1: Access the Patient Tab

From the main dashboard, click on “Patient Tab.”

Step 2: Select the Patient

In the Patients Tab, search for and select the Patient’s Name.

Step 3: Open the Consults Section

Select “Consults” and then click “View” to access the patient's record.

Guarantor Information is mandatory for sending lab orders. Please make sure you fill that before composing lab order

Payer Address is mandatory for sending lab orders. Please make sure you fill that before composing lab order

Step 4: Navigate to Lab Orders

Click on “Lab Orders” to open the patient’s lab order information.

Step 3: Compose a Lab Request

Click on “Compose” to initiate a connection with the lab.

Step 4: Send the Request

Click on “Send Request” to proceed.

Step 5: Choose Lab Groups or Diagnosis

Option 1: Using Lab Groups (Refer to this https://docvillasupport.atlassian.net/wiki/x/PwBMN on how to create lab groups in the setup screen)
- Click on “Select Lab Groups” and choose from the lab groups or panels you have already created.
- Click “Save” to confirm your selection.

Option 2: Using Lab Test Order Search
- Search for the relevant Lab Test
- Map the diagnosis from the list.
- Click “Save.”

Step 6: Send the Order

Click on “Send Order” to finalize the request and connect with the lab.
