How To Upload Documents in EHR

Uploading documents in the EHR ensures seamless management of patient records and improves administrative efficiency. Follow the steps below to upload documents effectively:

There are three ways to upload documents in EMR

  • Through Patient Encounter

  • Through Patient Profile

  • Through Patient Portal

Any documents uploaded in the Patient Encounters will automatically be shown in the Patient Profile. However, if any documents are uploaded in the Patient Profile will not be shown in the Patient Encounter.

 

 

Steps to Upload Document in EMR through Patient Encounter:

 

Step 1: Access the Consults Tab

  • From the main dashboard, click on "Consults.”

Step 2: In the Consults Tab:

  • Search and select the patient’s name.

Step 3: Open the Documents Section

  • Select the Documents option within the patient’s encounter details .

 

Step 4: Click on “Consult”.

 

Step 5: Upload the Document

  • Click on “Upload Documents.”

  • Choose the file you want to upload from your computer.

  • Select the appropriate Category to classify the document.

Step 6: Set Visibility (Optional)

  • Click “Visible to Patient” if you want the document to appear on the patient portal.

Step 7: Save the Document

  • Click on “Save” to upload and save the document in the EHR.

Steps to Upload Document in EMR through Patient Tab:

Step 1: Access the Patient Tab

  • From the main dashboard, click on “Patient Tab.”

 

Step 2: In the Patients Tab:

  • Search and select the patient’s name.

 

Step 3: Open the Documents Section

  • Select the Documents option within the patient’s profile.

 

Step 4: Upload the Document

  • Click on “Upload Documents.”

  • Choose the file you want to upload from your computer.

  • Select the appropriate Category to classify the document.

 

Step 5: Set Visibility (Optional)

  • Click “Visible to Patient” if you want the document to appear on the patient portal.

 

Step 6: Save the Document

  • Click on “Save” to upload and save the document in the EHR.

Steps to Upload Document in EMR through Patient Portal:

Step 1: Log in to the Patient Portal

  • Access the portal using your credentials.

Step 2: Navigate to the Documents Tab

  • Once logged in, click on the “Documents” tab

Step 3: Upload the Document

  • Select “Upload Document.”

  • Choose the file from your device that you wish to upload.

 

 

Step 4: Save the Document

  • Click on “Save” to finalize the upload.

Step 5: View Uploaded Document

  • Navigate back to the “Documents” tab to view the uploaded file.

 

 

With these features, providers can manage documents efficiently, ensuring proper classification and accessibility, which streamlines administrative workflows and supports better patient care.
