How to use Direct Primary Care (DPC) services?

DocVilla offers the providers to avail Direct Primary Care (DPC) – also known as “Subscription Medicine”, Concierge Medicine” and “Membership Medicine”. With Direct Primary Care, the providers can create subscriptions for patients and that can automatically charge the patient’s credit card on a daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, annual basis. The Providers can create DPC services that they offer along with the pricing. The Providers can then simply start the subscription for a patient by providing credit card information of the patients, setting the frequency of the payment, and defining the end date of the subscription (optional). This will set up a recurring payment system and the money will automatically get deducted from the patient’s credit card and will get transferred to the practice’s bank account. The subscription can be canceled by the provider anytime they want. This feature is only available in the Gold Plan.

  1. Go to Setup on the top right and click on Enc Setup. Then go to DPC

2. Click on Add New and give a name to the service along with a description and the cost for the service. Click on Save Changes.

3. Once you have created the services, then go to the Patient’s tab, and select the patient for whom you want to create a subscription plan.

4. In the Patient profile, go to payment → subscription.

5. If there is no credit card associated with the patient, then click on Change Credit Card and add a card on file.

6. Then click on “Add Subsctipion”. Here you can give subscription name, frequency of the charge, provider with which you want to associate the payments (for reporting purposes), start date, and end date.

7. Click on Add Product. You can now bundle the DPC services/products with this subscription, that we created in step 1 and 2. You can click on Add Product again to add a new row.

8. Your subscription is now saved and will automatically charge patients' credit cards.

9. You will be able to see the invoices in the “Payment Invoices” section.

If an invoice fails e.g. unable to charge patients' credit card or credit card expired, then DocVilla will send you an automatic notification. It will be your responsibility to followup on that invoice with the patient. If the patient asks you to change the credit card, then please delete the current subscription, add a new credit card and follow the above steps again.

If an invoice goes through successfully, then you will see the Green Paid Tags. If the invoice does not go through then it will remain open and you will also see a past due tag.
