How To Charge a Patient through Credit Card
Using the Credit Card payment feature in your EMR, you can efficiently process patient payments and document transaction details. This feature supports secure payment handling, accurate financial record-keeping, and a seamless billing experience. Here’s how to charge a patient through the credit card payment feature in your EMR effectively.
Steps to Charge a Patient through Credit Card in EMR:
Step 1: From the main dashboard, click on “Patient Tab”.
Step 2: In the Patients Tab:
Search and select the patient’s name.
Step 3: Select “Consults”.
Step 4: Click on “View”.
Step 5: Select on “Patient Charge” to begin documenting the payment details for the patient.
Step 6: Check for Existing Credit Card Information:
If the patient is a returning user or has provided details through the patient portal, their credit card information will already be visible under the “Credit Card”.
Step 7: Add a New Credit Card:
To add a new card, click on “Add Credit Card” and input the required credit card details, including:
Card Number
Cardholder Name
Step 8: Click on “Add Credit Card”.
Step 9: Specify the Charge Amount:
Enter the amount to be charged to the patient’s credit card.
Step 10: Click on “Charge Patient” to complete the transaction.
The specified amount will be deducted from the patient’s credit card and credited to your bank account.
If the transaction is cleared then it will move to the history section.
These steps ensure that patient charges are processed accurately and securely through the EMR system.
