Next of kin and Caregiver

You can add next of kin or relatives in DocVilla. Go to the patient’s profile. Click on Basic Info. Scroll down and click on Next of Kin

Click on Add Next of Kin and follow the steps.

Once the Next of Kin is Added, then click on “Caregiver for”

Caregiver feature will allow the patient to view the PHI of the next of kin in the Patient’s patient portal. So use it with caution. Make sure that you do not attach an incorrect next of kin with the patient. Make sure that you get written permission from the patient and the kin if you want show the kin’s data on the patient’s patient portal.

To disassociate a kin from a patient for caregiver feature, you can uncheck the kin and save.

Once you give access of a kin to a patient/caregiver, then when the patient logs into the patient portal they will have ability to check the PHI of the kin. The patients will be able to change their role and impersonate the patient portal of the kin.

On the custom patient portal, this is the way screen would look like where the patient/caregiver would have the option to select the kin and see the dashboard accordingly.
