How to create flow sheet under Lab in EHR
What is a Flow sheet?
A Flowsheet in DocVilla is a structured table that records, tracks clinical or laboratory data over time.
Flowsheets, where applicable, depend on discrete data provided by the lab. Enabling this functionality requires additional development and engineering effort, and the related costs would be borne by the medical practice unless the lab agrees to underwrite them.
If the LOINC code for any test result is not present, then the data will not be reflected in the flowsheet.
The availability of Flowsheets is contingent upon the specific clinical practice and the originating laboratory. The presentation of discrete data elements is subject to the laboratory's provision of such data; furthermore, the integration of these data points requires specialized engineering and may be subject to additional fees, except in instances where such costs are underwritten by the laboratory. Users are advised to consult the primary laboratory results PDF for an exhaustive record, as data reflected within flowsheets may not be comprehensive.
Steps to Create flow sheet in EHR:
Step 1: Access Setup
From the main dashboard, click on “Setup.”
Step 2: Access Encounter Setup
Select “Enc Setup” from the available options.
Step 3: Select “Labs” → Flowsheet
Step 4: Click on Add New Flowsheet and give a name > Click on save
Step 5: Select the appropriate flow sheet to add analytes or map LOINC codes.
Analyte: The specific substance measured in a lab test (e.g., Hemoglobin).
LOINC Code: A standardized identifier assigned to a lab test or analyte for consistent reporting across systems.
Step 6: Click Add New Analyte, then choose the appropriate lab test corresponding to the analyte or LOINC code.
Step 7: Ensure the selected flowsheet is listed under Associated Analytes for the group.
Step 8: If you want to delete a Analyte or flowsheet(if needed):
Click on the “x” mark next to the test.
Confirm the deletion by clicking “OK.”
You may verify it under "Associated Analyte" for the group.
After creating the flow sheet, to check trends, go to the ‘Consult tab’
Step 9: Navigate to the Consult tab and choose the consult to check lab trends.
Step 9: Navigate to Lab Orders → Flowsheet
Select the flowsheet, apply the date filter, and select Display to view the results.
