“403 Forbidden” Error While Prescribing eRx outside United States

A 403 Forbidden error appears when attempting to send eRx while you are outside the United States.

This happens because Surescripts restricts e-prescribing to U.S.-based IP addresses only.

Although it may be technically possible to use a VPN to route your connection through a U.S. IP address, please note:

eRx (including controlled substances) is allowed only when accessed from within the United States.
Using eRx outside the U.S. is not compliant with Surescripts regulations.
