Types of Patient Portals (Custom and Free Patient Portal) in DocVilla EHR
DocVilla offers two types of patient portals designed to enhance communication, simplify scheduling, and improve patient engagement.
1. Free Patient Portal
This option is ideal for practices that want to provide basic digital access for their patients without any additional cost

In the free patient portal, the patients cannot self register. This limitation exists because as a software, we do not have any way of knowing which patients belongs to which practice.
The registration has to be initiated by the Practice from the EHR side by “Selecting Enable Patient Portal”. This will send a secure registration link to the patient and ask them to register.
2. Custom Patient Portal
The Custom Patient Portal is an upgraded, fully branded solution designed for practices looking to automate scheduling and patient intake.
The custom patient portal allows patients to self-register and self-schedule appointments based on the provider’s availability. This reduces the need for front desk involvement and relies on automation to streamline intake.
Practices that use the custom portal (starting at $2500) often see higher lead conversions, as patients can easily register and book appointments directly from the website. It also enhances branding—emails and encounter summaries sent to patients include your practice logo.
