How to Share Encounter Summaries with Patients in DocVilla via Patient Portal
Step-by-Step Guide
1. Login to DocVilla and Locate the Patient
Go to your DocVilla dashboard.
Navigate to the “Patients” tab.
Use the search bar to find the patient by name or ID.
2. Access the Patient’s Encounter
Click on the patient’s name to open their profile.
Go to the “Encounters” section.
Open the relevant completed encounter.
3. Print and Send Encounter Summary
Inside the encounter, click on the “Actions” button at the top-right.
Select “Print” > “Print Forms”.
Choose the sections you wish to share (e.g., SOAP note, diagnosis, etc.).
Click “Send to Patient Portal”.
This will generate a PDF and send it directly to the patient’s portal.
How to Unshare the Document from DocVilla
Go to Consults Tab
Search for the patient whose document was shared.Open Encounter → Documents Section
Inside the Encounter Detail, navigate to the “Documents” tab.Find the Shared Document
Look for the document you previously sent to the patient portal.Edit Visibility
Locate the toggle “Hide from Patient”.
🔒 This will instantly remove visibility from the patient portal.
4. Patient Views Summary
The patient logs into their DocVilla Patient Portal.
Navigates to the “Documents” section.
Downloads or views the encounter summary PDF.
Notes
You can choose to send only specific parts of the consultation.
Make sure the encounter is fully completed before sending.
No extra steps needed—patients automatically receive access after sending.
