❗ Why Full Chart Downloads Are Not Supported

While it might seem convenient to export all patient charts at once, DocVilla limits this functionality for the following technical and performance reasons:

1. Browser Timeout Limits

  • Browsers like Chrome and Firefox have a default timeout of around 30 seconds.

  • If a patient has multiple encounters (e.g., 10 encounters × 40 pages = 400+ pages), generating a single PDF can take too long and cause the browser to freeze or crash.

2. Server Load Management

  • Large data exports create a heavy load on our servers.

  • Allowing bulk downloads can negatively impact the performance and stability of the platform for all users.

3. Device Performance Issues

  • Even compressed PDFs can be tens of megabytes.

  • Devices with limited RAM or older configurations may hang or crash while handling large files, which is often mistaken for a platform error.

💡 Best Practice:
Export documents per encounter for smoother performance and reliability.
